VOLUNTEER WORK

Volunteers are an amazing group of people. They give up hours, weeks and even months of their time for no money at all. All their hard work is solely for the comfort of the animals and birds at Lory Park.

WEEKEND VOLUNTEERS

Weekend volunteers are people who give up their Saturday, Sunday or both and commit to Lory Park's working hours. Volunteers need to realise that the bulk of the work required  is cleaning enclosures, preparing food and doing basic maintenance around the Park. Only once the Park staff have assessed your work ethics and affinity with animals will you be allowed to handle the animals.

PART TIME VOLUNTEERS

Part Time Volunteers are generaly people with spare time and are happy to commit to a few days wherever possible, especially during the week to work at Lory Park.

FULL TIME VOLUNTEERS

Generally Full Time Volunteers are students studying towards working with animals as a career. "Putting in Time" at Lory Park is highly sought after and highly respected. Full Time Volunteers work a 6 day week at Lory Park.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD VOLUNTEER?
